smallReality.com was purchased in October of 2001 and started out as a blogging forum for college and twenty-something conservatives. At its peak, I had six writers from four different states with ages ranging from 18-25.

In September of 2003 I redesigned the site, making it suitable for a one-man show... um, that would be me. I did this primarily because of my move from Atlanta to New York City--a dream that was 6+ years in the making and finally realized. To commemorate this rather significant transition in my life, I decided to take the blog solo and devote the whole site to my interests and experiences up there.

In June, 2006 I moved to Denver where I'll be making a home for at least a couple of years. Once I lived the NYC life, I wanted to take my interests more outdoors while I still have a body that can handle it. Plus, it's easier, financially, to live here and not enslave myself to the corporate machine. We'll see how long I last. I hear Spain and California calling my name but they'll have to wait while I spend some time with Denver.

I borrowed the name smallReality from the late Elliott Smith, the most influential solo musical artist my life has ever had and ever will have. If I should make it to the ripe age of 70, I will look back with quite fond memories and a tear in my eye when I think of Elliott's music and how my life is marked by it.
